# Creating a Message Template

## Prerequisites

You have created a **Search** object.&#x20;

**Message Templates** allow you to configure the layout of your search results as they are displayed on Slack.&#x20;

Here's how you can create/modify your message template for your search object:

1. From the **DataFetch** web interface, select a search object.&#x20;
2. Go to the Message Template tab. This tab features the following sections:

   The **Fields** section shows all searchable attributes in a specific Salesforce object. \
   The **Template** section allows you to create a message template using the JSX syntax. \
   The **Preview** pane shows what the search result will look like in Slack.
3. You can click and drag the fields into the **Templates** section and format the layout as you desire.\
   As you create your template, you will see how your Slack search result will look in the **Preview** pane.
4. Click **Save**.&#x20;
