Creating a Message Template

Prerequisites

You have created a Search object.

Message Templates allow you to configure the layout of your search results as they are displayed on Slack.

Here's how you can create/modify your message template for your search object:

  1. From the DataFetch web interface, select a search object.

  2. Go to the Message Template tab. This tab features the following sections:

The Fields section shows all searchable attributes in a specific Salesforce object. The Template section allows you to create a message template using the JSX syntax. The Preview pane shows what the search result will look like in Slack.

  3. You can click and drag the fields into the Templates section and format the layout as you desire. As you create your template, you will see how your Slack search result will look in the Preview pane.

  4. Click Save.
